Over the years, there have been sensationalized stories of kidnap victims who were held prisoner, sometimes for years. (Even a book and movie...The Butterfly Collector.) But there have been at least 3 horrific cases in the last year. What the heck?

The young man murdered as discussed in the article below was a middle school friend of DD. He was a sweet kid with lots of friends, and scheduled to start college yesterday, but instead his viewings started. Tomorrow DD will be attending his funeral.

When you read the second article, you really have to wonder what is going on in Metro Detroit Area. I am glad that the article notes that there are no barriers, racial, class, or otherwise to define why this may be happening so...

First of all, I despise Michael Jackson for his pedophilia as well as other acts.

I think he has gotten away with many things. At most he is pitiable, but I don't have much pity for him.

I think Michael Jackson has never had to take responsibility for his actions. Now, even in his death, a lot of pressure is being placed to ensure he doesn't have to take responsibility for the actions leading to his own death.

It doesn't matter that he was a musician....

i read a lot in the press yesterday about the government instituting its flu plan is causing a panic. I personally think the government is trying to inform people and minimize the inpact, as well as following the tested plans that have been in place (albeit updates.) . This requires getting information out. Obama's message on closing schools on this early spring outbreak was a bit alarmist, I think.
