I was hoping to find people to chat with there, but we didn't bond with any of the people there.

Surprisingly to me, most of the people in the room were doing "kinship" care, so they are taking in nieces and nephews and grandchildren, etc. with no interest in other children. There was maybe only one couple there doing the "traditional" foster care like we want to do. So, that was frustrating too. Plus, most of them live in Denver. One of the trainers even recommended the people in the room look to each other for respite, etc., but that is completely unrealistic for us too.

Maybe my expectations were just too high!
