L2 will be 3 in August. He recently had an evaluation that said he comprehended on the 18 month level. When he came his language was totally incomprehendable. I don't think that he had any interaction before. He didn't know the difference between yes/no, mom/dad and couldn't follow simple directions. He has really improved cognitively.

If I were to put him into a high chair while I cooked, he would drive me crazy! He knows that cooking means we are eating soon and starts to carry on; loud talking, getting excited and frustrated, etc.

So far, I have been patient with him because I realize that he needs the interaction. However, I am just tired and my patience is running thin. I think that part of the problem is that I feel stuck in the house. I have left Peanut at home with DH and taken just L2 to the stores and Walmart for short trips. I want for him to be able to go outside the home. We really believe that he never left the home before. He had not even been to the doctors. He went to the Dept of Health for shots and that is it. The first time we took him to a fast food joint, he didn't know how to use a straw or play in the playplace.

He also showed no emotion at all to his sister Peanut. It was like she wasn't even there! Now he babytalks with her and interacts for a few moments. SW says she thinks that the baby was always left in a back room on a bed. She came to us at 4 months with no neck control and the concept of being cuddled was new to her. She now loves to be held and also does well playing with her toys. She is trying so hard to crawl and get around. Her attention span is much longer then L2's! It is so funny, Peanut is teething right now and you can feel the bumps. If she sees me putting a finger to check for teeth, she will open her mouth for me and grin. I think she likes for me to rub that bump.
