Catching up on all the details of last night...

DH was instructed to call the police, so he did. I came home from P-T Conferences to our local policeman in our house, questioning K about the scale. She of course denied knowing anything about it. He was going to take it and toss it, as no police report was needed, or leave it to us. We decided to keep it to give to the CW so they can file it as needed. (I want to add, that I wouldn't completely put it past L to have had something like this, and planted it in K's room.) I honestly don't believe that K uses drugs of any sort.

DH had also called our CW to ask about changing doorknobs to unlocking type, but she didn't think that was a necessary solution. And we do have pins to pop the locks, it's just that it requires us to go looking for them.

K's CW contacted the sister who we assumed gave her the cell phone, and she fully admitted to having gotten her one. Our CW told us K is lying, and she cancelled the visit with her sister for this weekend, and she told us to ask K for the phone. So then we confronted K about all this, that yes, you do have a cell phone, even though you have said so many times you do not, and your CW says you are lying. She never admitted to having the phone, and was still very angry with us. Then minutes later we hear her sobbing into the cell phone with someone in her room. I popped the lock, walked in and took the phone. The CW will be over tomorrow so we can sit down and talk to her about some things. My 2 biggest concerns are 1) that she was so mad at us for saying she had a cell phone (when she did in fact have one!) and 2) her credibility has just been swept away by denying that she had the phone, even when everyone else fully knew and disclosed that she did.

All said and done, we will probably allow her to use the cell phone, but not for awhile yet (for lying) and by our specific requirements. She will not be going to bed with the phone.
