I definitely started seeing some of the "whining" behaviors K has had difficulties with at the RTC. I think of whining as a tone of voice and she really doesn't do that, but she can be extremely "defensive" and complain a lot.
"You expect me to eat this cereal with only a little milk on it?"
-- I don't, but you will go to Bible School after you've eaten breakfast.
"How am I supposed to color without a red crayon?
--You had a red crayon before you threw it.
"But you did it yesterday too and I want a turn!"
--Are you arguing or accepting no?
Some of it just seems like "attitude" more than anything else. It doesn't particularly bother me, but I do need to be more aware of it, not simply ignore it, and practice appropriate responses with her. It's certainly not going to get her anywhere in life if she responds to teachers, bosses, etc, in this manner. Or does she only do it with me? And will it get better?
