I see this often on the board with new parents. Say no.

There are so many healthier children to adopt that you do not have to choose the ones that are so helpless and hurt.

Sounds like you would like to have younger children. That is so possible. Foster to adopt situations would fill your household quite quickly with babies and toddlers that would become adoptable. Some of them would be returned to bio family, but it will not take too many placements before the little guys become adoptable. I see it regularly in our home. I see it on this board.

The great benefit of foster to adopt is that you see behaviors and get on the job experience. Start out by being a respite home and work up towards a permanent placement.

Or... adopt a large sibling group with all ages there. Many of those sibling groups will have multiple, fairly healthy children and one or two really hurt ones. It would be incredibly difficult for the first year or two, but it would be instant family for you and save another family the heartache of separation.
