I suspect she just needs a little more time to fully get used to the idea. The reality of it has hit her now, and it must be a sobering thought. I think you are saying all the right things to her, giving her permission to grieve and feel confused.

For your sakes, I am sorry it wasn't a more joyful occasion. Those old strands of loss just keep weaving in and out, don't they?
