On the way to our session last week, my friend told me to ask for our "Treatment Plan" ????? Never heard of it, so she had to explain it to me. Perhaps if we had one set up, we wouldn't be in this position. I asked the therapist about getting a copy of our "Treatment Plan", and she said that it would be better to start fresh (don't even approve the new therapist's "release" to talk to her). Our friend said that she was waffling and that more than likely, since we did not review and sign such a plan that none existed.
Does the law require that a therapist provide all of the notes or the "Treatment Plan" upon the patient asking? Like an patient is allowed to get copies of their file from a doctor's office when moving to another doctor?
