I just read the great thread on points to consider for special needs adoption, and had a question about this:
I have discussed the entire placement history of my child with at least one social worker and believe I have all information that is available.
We are just beginning the homestudy process. We have a child in mind, and I have spoken with a county caseworker as well as our agency contact about the child and gotten a general idea of issues. However, I am now very anxious to find out all I can. Is it too early to call and start delving really deep? Will they disclose an entire history if we haven't completed our homestudy?
I think I'm at that delicate point where I don't want to be the squeaky wheel and jeopardize a potential placement, but knowing that I need to do the best thing for our family by getting a realistic picture as soon as possible.
Thanks so much for any help you can give!
