Not sure where to put this. Our N's 11th bday is Friday, and 2 of Georgia Mommy and Daddy's Home's kids have birthdays this month. They had collected a bunch of things for hurricane victims from their friends and family, so we combined everything and celebrated the 3 birthdays at their house (as well as us collecting the stuff to deliver in Atlanta.)
We all had such a good time. N had lost his bday party with friends because of his intransigent crappy behavior for a number of months. He said last night that Daddy's Home and the 2 girls are more fun than all his other friends put together. He thanked us for allowing him to have a birthday party after all--and the best one ever.
B had played so hard that he was out like a light on the drive home (N had received an Abbey Road cd --we were all singing and noticed we had lost a voice). He had to be carried in and undressed.
Lots of fun (as always). N was able to drive a 4 wheeler and did a lot of strutting afterwards. He slammed his face into the handlebars when he took a bump too fast, and is carefully nurturing his "red badge of courage"--desperately hoping he'll have a big bruise tonight for soccer practice! DH also gave him sound advice about handling a male social situation which was better than our female advice.
Plus he got "real man" presents. Adult gifts according to him.
He's been behaving better for the last 2 weeks, so I am starting to hope he's breaking out of his nasty regression.
B just wants us all to move up there with them.
